Manila Flooding
Tropical depression Ondoy began with strong rainfalls on the night of September 25, 2009. A month’s worth of rain fell in the Manila area causing massive flooding. At the time of writing, the level of casualties and property damage has not yet been tallied. The locals of Boracay have extended their help and are raising money to provide assistance to all of the Ondoy casualties. Our sympathies go out to those who were affected.
Luckily for the people of Boracay, the island was spared the impact of this very tragic event. In answer to the questions asked by many potential Boracay visitors: Boracay was unaffected and is as beautiful as ever.
